Fav Color Combo

Hello friends,

Today I'm submitting my card to two challenges - Mo's "Favorite Color Combo" and "Anything Goes" over at Simon Says Stamps. I'm a huge fan of violet/lilac, and when I use it in cards, I sooo totally sinnnng! I've tried something different with my card today - used embossing tinsel around the card's and image's bases. I LOVE the effect it gives in real life! I think this would be my new favourite technique :-) Or, maybe, my "signature" mark on my cards. You know, it's some kind of common knowledge that card designers almost invariable have their unique "signature" styles, and you can identify their creations without even looking at the creator's details :-). I don't know if I have my style yet, I'm in the process of finding myself, I guess. I just love the process :-) And learning new things :-) So, without further ado, here is my creation. The favourite colour combo is violet/blue with a dash of green, and I used one of Mo's super-adorable elves, Little Elf Kin :-) Thank you for stopping by!

Happy Holidays

Hi friends,

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I read comments that you leave for me and feel so happy that my modest cards are getting attention of really cool & talented crafters!  Thank you again!

Today I'm sharing a card that I made for JustRite challenge Happy Holidays, where we were challenged to use at least 2 die cut elements on our Holiday projects. For my card I used Twisted Metal Tags and Accents and one of the smaller templates from Resplendent Rectangles set. For sentiment I used JustRite's Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments and for the background I used Lace Background stamp. Both images were heat embossed: the sentiment was stamped with royal blue ink (Colourbox), then embossed with some sparkly clear embossing powder, and the background was stamped with moon white ink, then embossed with sparkly white embossing powder. The effect of sparkling embossing powders is oh, so cool!; the sentiment looks like it's made of ice, and the background looks like fresh snow on a sunny winter day. I think this will be a Christmas card for myself - I just love it :-)  Thanks for your visit!

Flower Power

Hello friends,

Today I'm posting for a JustRite Friday challenge  - Flower Power, where we're challenged to use at least three flower embellishments on a card. I'm using my hand-made hydrangeas (jeez, don't ask me how long it took me to make those!!! a local scrapbook store had a tutorial on these flowers,I fell in love with them and made quite a number of these in various colours), Cricut-cut leaves, pleated background for my JustRite sentiment from the Forever Friends stamp set, Martha Stewart around-the-page punch, and here is my card. Thank you for dropping by!

Embellishments & papers

HI friends,

Today I'm posting a card for the Bellarific Friday challenge over at Stamping Bella.. The challenge was to use three embellishments and three papers, and I rolled my sleeves! So, here is my card using a lovely image Bye Bye Girl by Mo Manning in rubber - a card made for a great colleague of mine, who is changing departments shortly. I've used three papers... well... not counting the red underlying layer lol... three embellishments would be the ribbon bow, the pop-up flowers (used one of the latest Spellbinders' diecuts), and purple gemstones. Colouring mediums are Copics, Prisma pencils and some chalk ink for shadow inside the diecut frame. And here is my card. Thank you so much for dropping by!!!

Bling it!

HI friends,

Today I'm posting a card for two challenges - Mo's blog has "Anything Goes" challenge, for which I used her super-cute image Big Shoes, and I think I went a bit overboard with purple hues :-) I totally love the end result! And because it's a girl's card, I had to use as much bling, as I could possibly imagine :-) So, the second challenge I'm entering this card into is Simon Says Stamp's Glimmer and Sparkle. I've used Copics to colour the image, a bit of Prisma pencils for deep shadows, glaze pens for heels and tiny clusters of flowers, some Distress ink for the shadow around the image, and here is my card. Thank you for dropping by!

Tweet Chick

Hi friends,

Today I'm participating in Simon Says Stamps "Anything Goes" challenge and in Kraftin' Kimmie's "Show your fave" challenge. I used Kimmie's super-cute chick from the Tweets and Twitters set for a birthday card of the 4-year old's godson of my hubby. This boy is such a happy person, he just beams joy non-stop, and this chick is sooooo him :-) I fell in love with this image, and I think it is set to make a ton of great cheerful cards. I coloured the image with KOI markers (water-based), on cold press watercolour paper, used some Versamark chalk ink around the image for the shadow, added a couple of die-cuts, machine stitching, and here is my card. Thank you for stopping by!

Hi friends,

Today I'm participating in Mo's challenge Buttons! Yay! I've used Mo's image Paul Typing, Copics to colour the image, Basic Grey designer paper and some stitching. I thought it might probably be a bit odd to use buttons for a man's card, but I think it works out well. Thank you for dropping by! And here is my card:

Oh, so trendy...

Hi friends,
I've been crazy busy lately - a ton to do with kids and the house, which was kind of abandoned while I was juggling school, work and family in the last few years :-) Now I'm trying to catch up and it feels like I'm living through the Augean stables experience... Anyway, today I'm posting! Yay! I'm participating in Simon Says Stamp! challenge We're So Trendy. I'm using hexagons by MFT (they're soo cool I couldn't stop die-cutting with them, got quite a pile of cut-outs for my future projects), an image by a local store Pointer's Gifts and Crafts, some Copics for the image, MME Fiddlesticks and Basic Grey Indie Bloom Papers, and here is my card. Thank you for dropping by!!!

JustRite Christmas

Hi friends,
My summer seems to be the busiest time of the year :-) I cannot believe I haven't touched my craft supplies for about two months! Well, I had to complete my Master's, which I finally did with a huuuuge sigh of relief. If you ask me whether I now have more spare time, I'll tell you that not even a nanosecond had been freed up... My house needs a thorough cleaning, my lawn needs watering and weeding daily, and that's on top of the two energizers running around and requiring ALL the time and attention I have. My craft room is kind of an abandoned activity for the moment. I hope that once the lawn time and house cleaning are over, I'll just have time for myself. I guess I'm a bit too optimistic... I'm on vacation this week, and that seemed to do a trick with the "free" time (lol!). Today, I'm submitting a card to JustRite biweekly challenge, which currently is Christmas in July. When I have time (well, even when I don't have time), I try to find a way to use the tiniest die templates and stamps - it's all about playing around, right? JustRite used to carry diecutting templates to match their original sentiment sets. I have a set which is probably called Nested Sentiments (cannot recall better, and cannot find the set on JR website). I die-cut 18 tiny flowers, embossed them, then  added glue and lavender Glitter Ritz to the embossed  areas and used them to embellish the circle with the main image on the card. That was quite time consuming, but I love the result! The stamp I used for my card is from the Christmas Ornaments set. Enjoy your summer, and thank you for stopping by!

JustRite Challenge

Hello friends,

Today I am submitting a card to a JustRite Challenge Vintage Masculine. Perfect timing for a Fathers' Day card!!! For this challenge I used JustRite's You Are the Best cling stamp set, coloured it with KOI markers on watercolour paper, distressed the edges of a background layer and inked them up with Vintage Photo distress ink (same ink is used on the yellow layer underneath the ribbon image), added punched out with MS "punch anywhere" punch Canine background lattice, added some ribbon and the card is done! Diecutting of the image pieces was done with Spellbinders petite scalloped circles, and Blossom Three (perfect combo with the JustRite stamp set I used for this card!).

Thank you so much for visiting, and here is my card:

Flowers in a Pot for Mom

Hi there,

I'm posting a card today that I made for my mom's birthday (this week!). She loves gardening and the moment I saw Mo Manning's image Sadie, I knew it would make a PERFECT birthday card for my mom. Sadie even looks like my mom :-) Stamping Bella has this image in rubber, and I'm submitting it to this week's Bellarific Friday, where we were to use this sketch:
The second challenge I'm entering my card to is Mo Manning's Weather-related one. Blooming roses say "SUMMER" to me :-) though the first day of summer is just dreadful here in Toronto...
The third challenge (wow, that's a record for me!) I'm entering my card into is Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes (gotta love "open doors" challenges!!!) challenge.

Thank you for dropping by! And here is my card:
